The Identification Card is a document in the form of a plastic card, which is used to identify a person as a citizen, resident of a certain region, employee in a company. Weapons permits, medical certificates, and various licenses could be made in the form of cards. As a rule, these cards have a photo of the holder, PIN, date of issuance, expiry date, special numbers and official notes. Apart from the personal IDs, there are corporative identification cards under BULSTAT Register, where all Bulgarian companies are registered.

The production process of the identification cards comprises:

•   production of matrix (blank) in the form of a laminated plastic card with printed polygraph image, which includes the common elements and spaces to fill in and other changeable details;
•   personalization of matrix – filling in the details of the card’s holder
